Harishchandragad via khireshwar route trek
Date:- 8 January 2021
Around 9.20 am reached base village if you coming via public transport then you have walk 6 km to reach base village via dam road. some villagers told me there is a shortcut route from vegetation, but better avoid that if travelling solo or in couple become you can easily hop on into ongoing jeep or fellow trekkers vehicle.
Location: khireshwar base village
After the relaxation of the corona restriction, I and my family decided to plan the trek to harishchandragad. This gonna be my 3 visits to the fort. So after intense research, we decided to climb from the khireshwar route.
We were a total of 6 trekkers out of which 2 are first time trekker and 2 doing trek after a long break. So the date was decided which my 8 and 9 Jan.
I have contacted my contact there (Bote dada) for booking accommodation and food. But told me that he's hotel is shifted to kokan kada due to Forest department problem, but we wanted to camp near the temple become availability of ample amount of water and drinking water. So we decided to search for a hotel once we reached there.
We started our journey from Panvel at 4 am. we went to dombivali to pick our 2 members For breakfast, we decided to stop at the mashed ghat, but every hotel was closed on the way. around 9 am we reached kubi that there we had lunch at the hotel.
Around 10 everyone was brief especially first time trekker. warmup exercise was done. tried to distribute weight to everyone's bag so that it will become balanced.0ut of 6 I was carrying force 50L trekking bag two we're carrying basic trekking bag 30L and 2 were carrying basic office bag.
The good thing was everyone was in good trekking shoe. Everyone was instructed that the first half-hour gonna be tough for you as muscle is not used to this exercise. knee and joint gonna start painting. Drink an ample amount of water.
Our milestone was tolar kind we reached at it by 11.15 am. Crossing Tolar Khind is one of the trickiest parts of the route because you climb on a highly exposed rock patch that faces right into the valley.
Experts in front and back and newbie in middle. I recommend to newbie tho climb without there backpack on.
Once on top you reached the cave you can explore the cave if you have a powerful torch or headlamp you can explore the cavesafter passing the cave you will reach the plateau. and you see the same hunt
NOTE:- If ask the shop vendor about route he will tell to.go.from.right side route which is ( 7 hill crossing route) takes 3 hours
The left side route is through the taramati forest.
By 2.30 we reached the temple camping side from last trekking i notice that the all shop nearby temple is shifted to the cave side.
We had our lunch.we booked our dinner and breakfast. After resting for a bit we started our trek to catch the sunset from kokan kada but due to cloudy weather, we missed our opportunity.
We explored the kokan kada with caution like the naneghat route
We had our homely made food from a small hotel. Enjoyed the bonfire and had great conversation with the family.
After 9 we decided to sleep become next day we have climb the early morning taramati peak to caught the sunrise.we pitch our.6 person tent but.space was insufficient for 6 person because of baggae so we took a a tent on rent from the hotel for 300 rs as soon as we tried to. sleep itstarted raining and tent. leaking from2 points luckily I came prepared so use my duck age. We had a good night sleep.

As trek leader, I woke up at 4 am
The weather was foggy and cold. I ask everyone to do their morning routine.
But due to foggy weather, we decided to drop the idea. and had more sleep
We starts our day by taking from lord shiva. We explored pushkarni.
We visited the ganpati cave.everyone was memorized by seeing the ancient architecture. We click photograph.
From last trek from 2017 cave was full waste material like plastic, water bottle.
Its everyone's responsible to keep clean the fort as it is our historical heritage.
After exploring we decided to descent down.Everyone packed there bag.this time we tookthe taramati route which is easy route.
I instructed everyone go with there own pace and meet at hunt which said before.
Its hardly took us 1.30 to reach the hunt.
We took rest and prepared to descent the tolat khind rock patch.
All newbie was told to take out there bag and disembark carefully.
NOTE: disembark when crowd is less from both side
From tolar khind is easy route to base village .
We click so many pictures
To cool down a bit we stop at pimpalgoan Joga dam
NOTE:- Don't enter to swim in the dam if don't have swimming experience or an STCW certificate as the water level is deep.
We conclude our trek with great memories and no accident
